President elects promise war be over...

The recent President elects to me are basing most of their speeches on "I will end this war for it has to end by next year." Technically will it be that easy to end a war? Well through research it took longer than 5 years to end wars. For example the Vietnam War Started in 1959 and ending in 1975 about a 16 year War. Now in my opinion, when war starts in one area, and that area needs help of course as Americans they should help. If surrounding countries seek help as well then of course as an American I would want to help them out as well. Coming from a background of Filipina and my mom coming from a 3rd world country, of course I would want to America or American soldiers to help out different countries who need the help. The current Iraq war was suppose to be only interfering with Iraq only. Because of suspicions of Osama Bin Laden being in Afghanistan then troops where sent to Afghanistan but the culture shock of treatment of women made a big shock on soldiers and Americans. Based on traveling and news, the whole World needs help in terms of Wars. For not every country is going to get along with another or have the same thoughts as one. Where ever there needs help, help should be given. Wars don't end that easy...

Easter early this year..

This Easter it seems to be earlier than any other year. Can it be because of it being a leap year!? Well usually Easter would land in April but this year it seem to land in March. Don't ask me why its by the churches calculations of how long Lent (time of giving something up) would be. Easter is different in other countries where as in America we celebrate with Egg hunts and Sunday mass. The tradition of Easter Egg is the part usually for the children while Easter egg decoration is for adults. Easter is one of the Religious holidays which consist of many days of worship or days of certain parts or in simply words "Holy Week". Like the start of the Holiday, Lent where someone chooses something to give up for the 6 weeks. Which I gave up rice and still going strong! Then there is a Palm Sunday where the recievement of palm are given to be blessed. Then there is Good Friday where it lands on the Friday before Easter. That's usually when in some countries the sacrifice of themselves through Crucifixion. Then there's Easter. Simply a celebration through 3 months.

Shootings at Universities...

Recently there has been shootings at a couple of Universities which ended up with victims dead. I just have that question, of how can a person do that action of killing people, and for what exact reasons. Based on interviews from news, Illness has to be a big part in why people had chooses those paths. In Washington at Foss High school a student was shoot several times by a non-student who was thought to be incorporated with a gang, but later on was said to be suffering from a mental illness. The student from Virginia tech who had conducted the Virginia Tech Massacre was as well said that he had an anxiety disorder since middle school which could of been the trigger to his actions on April 16, 2007. The shootings at schools are becoming more common. So I want to end with a question: "Why would anybody think of such a thing?"

2008 Olympics

The 2008 is going to be taking place in Beijing China. Starting in September. With the excitement of the year of the Rat and the coming of the 2008 Olympics puts much spirit to China. Preparations for the torch relay has been in process since last year, with a lot of preparations. An Olympic Village was made in the process for the conveneice of visitors stay in China for the 2008 Olympics!!

Terror Attacks not only in the States...

I had read an article about an attempt terror attack in China, and it left me with the thought that the United States isn't the only one suffering with fear. Found on the online news on ABS-CBN a source from the Philippine entertainment, it had reported on how there was an attempt terrorist attack in Beijing China. They had no idea who the people as well with the fear of it being just anybody, as well as their own people. The suspension of Islam Uighurs based in China were responsible but is still in questioning. Based on this Article I'm trying to show that we are not the only one who are suffering well we aren't even suffering. Other countries as well experience even more violence. The violence that basically every other 3rd or 2nd world country experiences.

Blog thoughts on Internet future..

This is to comment on Andrew Fry's blog based on the happenings of the Web. His understanding of the rapid change in computers and it technology is supported with his own work and various peoples as well. One of the books that I had read was exactly about the same topic, about the evolution about computers and Internet. The Book's called, "Arguing A.I." by Sam Williams. The time and work that is put into researching of how the revolution of computers and Internet took a lot for researchers. So the work that Andrew Fry had done was basically what every researcher does. They are trying to figure out what and when new things will happen.

Hypertension or HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!

Well I decided to do a blog on "Hypertension" or in real words, "High Blood Pressure." The reason why I am doing this is because just this December I had found out that I have it myself which is actually making the rest of my insides suffer. I didn't really think it was a big thing to worry about but I was wrong!! Hypertension is caused by being overweight, stressed, eating habits, and family history. For me its like every type of symptom that they have out there. Here is a diagram showing exactly what Hypertension does. (Shown in the Picture.) This quarter has been a very stressing one, and I because of the stress it had gotten to the point where my chest would hurt probably from the stress itself. But straight out of wikipedia it says that children are counted for 85 to 95% of the population with Hypertension, which is amazingly surprising but in the other hand not. By the way that we Americans are eating it doesn't surprise me that children as well are getting it. I was kinda surprised in my case, but in a another way not really for I'm overweight and I didn't pick the right things to eat, so basically it was coming for me. But the issue with children having it at such a young age.. tsk. tsk. tsk. This shows that parents need to buck up and teach their children the RIGHT way to keep healthy by exercise, eating habits, and basically moving. Yes children now a days are really lazy, including me but just the action of moving would help. Help with our growing society with Hypertension.

How much money does it TAKE!?

EDIT: Well I had answered the wrong question!! SO here is the real answer. I'm a big buyer online especially eBay which is one of my weakness when it comes to online buying. Not only eBay but amazon for books, clothing, shoes, and even electronics. So based on my buying on the Internet I would be willing to purchase something on the Internet for basically about the most $1000 if its something that I really need and want. But other than that I can go buy it at stores.

What exactly do people spend for a web-site!?!? Well it all depends on the domain or website that the person buys. It could start at a price of $9.95 to thousands. Well for me I don't think I would want to spend a lot on a website that would usually just be made for the heck of it, then I'll probably forget about it. So I guess I would only spend about $10. Based on my experience with technology it would be a waste of money and Internet time. On the other hand if I was to be an owner of some store who sells items online well that's another story. THEN, I would put in more money for the sake of my career and company. But other than that $10 is enough!

Sucess brought to Goodwill!!!!

On February 14th we had a special guest in our class. Not just a typical guest but a person who specialize in E-commerce Programs. That person is Bill Kaufmann, Senior Vice President responsible for E-commerce programs in his own company CorpLogoWare and E-Commerce Manager at the Tacoma Goodwill. By his visit I had learned a lot about the ways that the Goodwill goes by. For every item that they get they go through a process of where it would go. And to be surprised Goodwill actually sells some of their items on the internet usually the items that are worth more in value. Goodwill is also involved with amazon.com, ebay and its own website. From my understanding Bill Kaufmann had become successful because of his interest in E-Commerce. He started as an E-Commerce manager at Goodwill and ended up with his own company as well. A two in one type of situation!!

Vanity Search

So in High School I took a lot of web design classes because I was interested at that time. And sometimes we had to do vanity searches as well, before I couldn't find anything on me except for Asianavenue. But when i conducted the vanity search there was a link that went to a local newspaper, and to be surprised it was me. It was one of my tennis matches. It had my whole name on it, and its kind of funny because you don't really find a lot of people with my name in such a combination. After that I couldn't find anymore that was exactly me. But thats alright at least I know I'm out there!!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Today is offically the start of the Chinese New Year!! Wish I was in the Philippines to experience the Chinese New Years. It can also be recognized as the Lunar New Year because the Chinese New Year is actually based on the lunar moon, or when it will go back to full moon which gives it the reason for such a long celebration. This holiday is actually observed by different countries as well to!! Like: Korea, Vietnam, Mongolia and other countries that have Chinese Influences. This year is the Year of the Rat. And also the year for the Olympics to be held in China. My the year of the Rat give China luck and good luck on the Olympics!!

EXIT133

Well today, Derek Young founder and creator of Exit 133 which is basically blogs about the Tacoma Area. We had basically discussed the finding and ways of how Exit 133 had become what it has. Mostly on different blogs, peoples comments, and opinions. We were to ask questions, and the question that I had asked was, "How did it basically start? Were the writers just volunteers?" Well from Mr. Young's response was that it had acutally started as a blog to keep people up to date on the medical condition of his friend, then after getting use to it and more interested it he had started doing blogs on the Tacoma area, which then turned into a business where it has become sucessful!!

What my Blogs are suppose to be ABOUT.

Well this is actually my first real blog and the reason I started this is because of my Living in the Virtual World taught by Prof. Andrew Fry. Blogs are mainly to be composed of my thoughts of the society, school and life, with some incorporations of what we learn in the class. For know our opinion's are a big part of our blog for its actually our own thoughts! My blogs would usually contain a lot of things that I'm personally interested in like, music, gossip, and etc. I mainly see this blog as a way to be able to open up and show my real thoughts!!

Its SNOWING!!!

So its 7:51 and its SNOWING!! I keep on calling UW weather alerts to see if we even have school but I guess they want us to suffer and try to get to school. Its not fair for students who live in areas where the snow is bad for example; Puyallup. The snow is not the only problem but the ice on the roads. It had snowed a little last night and because of that the roads have become frozen and difficult to drive on. I'm just hoping that UW will realize and suspend of cancel. Man those lucky younger kids!! Having not to worry about driving, about whether they'll make it to school on this day of weather. Oh how I wish I have a Chauffeur!!! But anyway hope everyone is safe and warm!!

EPIC!?!?

Well.... I'm kinda confused right now... i forgot what exactly epic was. Having to watch all the different videos has gotten me confused. Okay I rewatched and to know that people are guessing what the future of the internet would is kind of scary in a way. To know some of the things that were spoken of in the video makes me think of whether its true or not. The future is scary when people assume!!!
